FOR EVERYONE

Free resources to help expedite the decarbonisation of real estate

Knowledge is power, so we want to make whole life carbon training and benchmarking free for anyone who wants it, whether you’re a developer, consultant, architect or financier.

We have developed an easy-to-use portfolio dashboard and reporting tool for everyone trying to keep track of carbon in multiple projects.

We are also pleased to be able to offer 6 hours of free LCA Foundation Training, in conjunction with the Supply Chain Sustainability School.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will anyone else be able to see my carbon data?

Only you and Construction Carbon will be able to see your data. In line with our terms and conditions we may share completely anonymised data for industry education and
benchmarking.Other users within your organisation will also be able to see data you have uploaded, unless explicitly agreed otherwise. For more information about how we deal with your data refer to our software terms of use.

How do you ensure the quality of the data submitted?

We do not ensure the quality of the data submitted, unless the project level information has been verified by our team. Responsibility for ensuring the consistency and comparability of data therefore lies with the user. We are happy to provide formal 3rd party independent verification services, please contact us for more details.

What is the Embodied Carbon Score?

The Embodied Carbon Score is based on the banding benchmarks published by LETI
(London Energy Transformation Initiative). Similar to an Energy Performance Certificate
(EPC), the best performance is represented by an A++ and the worst by a G. The Embodied Carbon Score applies to whole life embodied carbon, covering lifecycle stages A1-A5, B1-B5, and C1-C4. We reserve the right to change these over time.

What are the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) decarbonisation curves?

The SBTi published draft upfront embodied carbon (A1-A5) decarbonisation pathways for selected building typologies in 2023. These are based on carbon budgets allocated to different industry sectors, and reduce each year in order to achieve global decarbonisation targets. Each building is represented as a bar in its predicted or actual completion year; if it sits above the line then upfront embodied carbon is above the SBTi limit, if it sits below the line then the building is below the limit.

What happens if there are no benchmarks for the asset type I want to compare?

If there are no benchmarks available for a specific typology, no Embodied Carbon Score will be shown. We hope to expand the typology coverage of benchmarks as more data becomes available.

Is there an auto-import function from the LCA tool that I am using?

We wish to remain tool agnostic, making it as easy as possible to import data. This starts with the Construction Carbon import template, and will extend to tool specific imports over time. If you would like us to consider an import function for the LCA tool you use, please get in touch.
